The technical environment consists of an AWS environment (elastic compute cloud and lambda) with Adobe Experience Manager as CMS and Commercetools as e-commerce engine. As we are a fully e-commerce company, we have other IT systems for payment, fulfilment, and translation solutions. Our objective is to have a fully microservice-based infrastructure.

 

Job description and Role

This is a hands-on role that will take our digital experiences to a new level of excellence.

As our Frontend Developer, you will ensure the readiness of development projects and initiatives while working with business owners and technology partners to implement business objectives and usability requirements. Some of our current projects are:

  • Further development of our PassFinder, to help customers find their perfect pass

By creating interactive and visual designs, you and your colleagues will build, maintain, and support our existing sites throughout the product lifecycle by implementing functional enhancements and resolving issues. To do this, you will collaborate cross-functionally with experts in our IT team, QA team, back-end development team, suppliers, as well as product owners in marketing and e-commerce. All the while, you will follow an Agile/Scrum methodology.

 

Boxes to tick

You are the Frontend Developer we are looking for if you have the following attributes:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

  • At least 2 years of experience building e-commerce tooling with demonstrated success

  • Experience planning, writing, and testing code that brings to life the layouts and UX specifications of wireframes made by our creative designers

  • In-depth and hands-on experience creating unique and innovative web experiences using technologies such as JavaScript/JQuery, XHTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, AJAX, XML, JSON, REST based APIs and other relevant technologies, as well as the proprietary Adobe toolset;

  • Experience writing modular SCSS or LESS

  • Experience in working with at least one content management system (preferably Adobe Experience Manager)

  • Experience in JavaScript component libraries like React/Vue/WebComponents

  • Experience performing QA and regression testing of web components including, but not limited to, browser compatibility

  • Able to optimise front end code and functionality in order reach site speed KPIs.

  • Experience in developing multilingual website/applications.

  • Experience with Webpack

  • You have an EU passport or a permit to work in the Netherlands.
