Data Analyst

As a BI analyst for Eurail you will be part of our strategy team, while working closely with our IT department on BI/DWH maintenance and data correctness. You will support us through our growth with data driven insights and are responsible for accurate and up-to-date information; your analysis will be the base for our decision making. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing metrics to drive business understanding and will support business stakeholders with accurate and actionable insights.

Job description and Role

As a BI analyst you constantly look for additions to the data sources we have available. You combine data to gain new insights. You analyse information, trends and pro-actively suggests ways to improve our business.

You will achieve these goals through the following activities, attributed to the technical side of BI:

  • Work with the Leadership team, and the strategy team to understand business requirements and look for data sources to support these

  • Translate requirements into actionable insights, building reports and delivering insights in the appropriate format

  • Transform repetitive questions into KPI’s that will bring actionable insights for decision making

  • Analyse current dashboards and reports and suggest improvements

  • Support the business to become data self-sufficient

  • Help with forecasting of revenues based on time series analysis from different perspectives

  • Better understand our customer behaviour by multivariate analysis, classification and clustering

  • Collaborate Collaborate with our Database Administrator (IT department) to collaborate in the area of data correctness and data connectors (API’s towards ecommerce environments, financial administration, etc.)




You are the data analyst we are looking for if you have the following characteristics

  • An academic degree (Msc) in Econometrics, Mathematics, Business Administration, Engineering or related field with a strong emphasis on statistics;

  • At least 3 years of working experience in a similar role;

  • Experience in using data in a commercial environment;

  • Highly experienced in data manipulation and retrieval using SQL based tools (SSMS and SSAS);

  • Experience in Power BI in creating dashboards, reports

  • Experience with statistical coding languages, like “R”

  • Knowledge of Data architecture is a plus

  • Knowledge of Accounting and Google Analytics is a plus

  • With your positive energy you will bring new ideas and with your drive and focus you are accustomed to getting results;

  • You have excellent communication skills both verbal and written on a business level in English.
